Rock and Roll royalty converged in Cabo San Lucas as Sammy Hagar celebrated his annual Birthday Bash, and the performances were nothing short of legendary! This year's festivities, hosted at his Cabo Wabo Cantina, spanned four electrifying shows over seven days, kicking off on October 7th and culminating on October 13th, the Red Rocker's birthday. These concerts are renowned for their star-studded guest lists, and this year was no exception.
Hagar welcomed an array of rock icons, including Alice in Chains' guitarist-singer Jerry Cantrell, the iconic Belinda Carlisle, and Anthrax's Joey Belladonna, among others.
Jerry Cantrell's appearances were a major highlight, with the grunge pioneer joining forces with axeman Zach Throne to deliver unforgettable renditions of Alice in Chains classics. They played songs like "Would," "Rooster," and the iconic "Man in the Box," backed by Hagar's stellar rhythm section: drummer Kenny Aronoff and Van Halen bassist and longtime Hagar bandmate Michael Anthony.
But here's where it gets interesting... On the third night, Cantrell switched things up, taking the lead vocals on a lively cover of Van Halen's "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" before handing the mic to the Red Rocker himself. The audience was treated to a unique experience when Hagar lent his vocals to "Man in the Box," showcasing a deeper, more powerful growl than his usual style, as captured in audience footage.
Other unforgettable moments included Belinda Carlisle's performance of The Go-Go’s hit "We Got the Beat" and her own chart-topper, "Heaven Is a Place on Earth," during Night 3. Anthrax's Joey Belladonna also delivered memorable performances, including renditions of Journey's "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" with Deen Castronovo and a duet with Hagar on Van Halen's "Best of Both Worlds," according to Setlist.fm.
And this is the part most people miss... Looking ahead, after the October bash, Hagar is already planning his 2026 Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM, which will feature 11 concerts throughout March and September.
