SOCIAL media is alight with employee secrets sharing the juiciest and most interesting details from inside favorite brands.

One Wendy’s employee recently shared the source of the company’s Chili, which they don’t eat.

A Reddit user claiming to be a shift manager posted that the sauce is made from old hamburger meat.

SAUCE SECRET

The shift manager’s post revealed the process.

“The only thing that I wouldn't eat myself is the chili,” they said. “The meat comes from the left over meat on the grill that dries out.”

According to the manager, the meat is then cut up and frozen, to be used later.

However, some have cast doubt on the user’s claim.

While Wendy’s website does admit that the meat in the chili is leftover burger meat, it does not suggest that it is frozen.

A more recent Reddit thread suggested that the process varies by location.

One employee posted to say that they do freeze their beef, but only for chili.

Another replied that their location does it differently.

“My store waits until it's time to cook the chili to make meat for it,” they said. “We don't freeze our meat at all. Idk which of us is the proper way.”

The U.S. Sun reached out to Wendy’s for comment to clarify the process.

Either way, some seemed unconcerned about the popular dish’s origin.

“Idk why people think this is gross,” one commenter said. “Pretty sure almost everybody knows it's day old burger. And it's delicious.”

MORE EMPLOYEE SECRETS

Another Wendy’s employee recently revealed an ordering trick to save money on a popular product.

The employee claimed that a value menu item with a few extra ingredients could recreate the Baconator for less cost.

They said their order gets a sandwich “pretty damn close to the real deal.”

A McDonald’s employee recently shared the reason the company’s menus abroad have greater variety than in the U.S.

The size of McDonald’s in the United States makes it difficult to roll out new menu items.

However, one Chicago store has an international version of the chain.

A Chick-fil-A employee shared the trick to getting one unusual item.

McDonald’s recently unveiled its ‘wrap of the day’ program.
